Pioneers Transport expands fleet with new Scania G440 XT trucks in Saudi Arabia

First batch delivered by GCC Olayan strengthens the company’s heavy-duty transport capabilities for oil & gas operations, featuring fuel-efficient engines and rugged XT-series performance from Scania

Pioneers Transport, a logistics and heavy transport company based in Saudi Arabia, has taken delivery of its first group of Scania G440 XT truck units as part of a broader plan to expand its heavy-duty fleet and strengthen its role in the oil & gas transport sector. The new trucks are expected to help the company handle more demanding transportation assignments across the region’s energy industry.

The newly delivered vehicles feature a 6×4 axle configuration, which is commonly used for difficult transport operations. This setup allows the trucks to perform reliably in challenging environments, particularly for heavy-duty work such as moving drilling rigs and other large industrial equipment. Such operations require vehicles that provide high levels of durability, power, and reliability under demanding conditions.

The transaction was facilitated by GCC Olayan, the exclusive distributor of Scania trucks in Saudi Arabia. Scania’s XT truck range is specifically designed for operation in harsh environments and can be customized to endure extreme working conditions while maintaining strong operational performance and uptime.

These trucks are equipped with Scania’s 13-litre Super engine, which incorporates performance improvements and the company’s Twin SCR emissions technology. This advanced powertrain is designed to reduce fuel consumption and lower emissions, with the manufacturer stating it can achieve up to eight percent better fuel efficiency compared with previous models.
