United Diesel and Daewoo Trucks unveil next generation trucks at Expo City

Daewoo's latest heavy and medium duty trucks showcased, electric Gixen LCV also coming to the UAE

United Diesel has unveiled Daewoo Trucks’ next-generation commercial vehicles at a high-profile event held at Expo City Dubai. The launch introduced the all-new Maximus and Dexen trucks, setting a new benchmark for performance, comfort, and reliability in the UAE’s heavy and medium-duty transport segments.

Hosted at the Connect Conference Center, the event attracted key figures from the construction, logistics, and fleet sectors, alongside regional dignitaries and international executives. Among the VIP attendees were Lee Beom Chan, Consul General of the Republic of Korea in Dubai, Kim Bang-shin, CEO of Daewoo Trucks, Mazen Dalati, CEO of Al Rostamani Group, and David Sawiras, General Manager of United Diesel.

Speaking at the event, Mazen Dalati reaffirmed Al Rostamani Group’s long-standing partnership with Daewoo Trucks and its importance to the UAE’s infrastructure and transportation sectors: “This launch goes beyond the introduction of new models,” Dalati said.

“It reflects our shared commitment with Daewoo Trucks and United Diesel to deliver innovation, reliability, and long-term value to our customers. Together, we are helping shape the future of mobility in the UAE.”

Echoing this sentiment, Kim Bang-shin, CEO of Daewoo Trucks, highlighted the brand’s 20-year legacy in the region and its ambition to support evolving transport needs.

“With Maximus and Dexen, we’re introducing smarter, safer, and more efficient solutions engineered to perform across the toughest terrain,” said Kim. “This is a proud milestone for Daewoo Trucks in Dubai.”

David Sawiras of United Diesel added that the new models are designed with the region’s unique operational requirements in mind.

“Maximus and Dexen build on the trusted Novus legacy with advanced capabilities and comfort,” said Sawiras. “United Diesel is committed to supporting this innovation with our comprehensive after-sales network across the UAE.”

Maximus and Dexen: Next-Gen Performance

The Daewoo Maximus is the brand’s flagship heavy-duty truck, built around four core pillars:

  • A digitised ergonomic cockpit for enhanced driver control

  • A fully floating air-suspended cab for improved safety and ride comfort

  • A 440HP HD Infracore Euro 5 engine delivering robust, fuel-efficient performance

  • Full access to United Diesel’s seven state-of-the-art service centres across the UAE

The Maximus is offered in two prime mover configurations:

  • 4×2 Prime Mover: Suitable for long-distance hauls up to 60 tonnes GCW

  • 6×4 Prime Mover: Built for demanding construction and industrial applications with up to 100 tonnes GCW

Dexen, meanwhile, marks Daewoo’s first foray into the UAE’s medium-duty segment. It offers a versatile and efficient option for urban and intercity transport operations.

Glimpses of the Future: Electric, Hydrogen, and Autonomous Innovation

Beyond the unveiling of Maximus and Dexen, Daewoo Trucks also presented a vision of the future with previews of upcoming technologies aligned with the UAE’s green mobility goals.

The GIXEN electric truck — a light-duty EV equipped with a multi-speed transmission motor and extended range capabilities — was revealed, representing Daewoo’s commitment to sustainable transport.

Attendees were also introduced to Daewoo’s autonomous vehicle roadmap, which includes lane-keeping assist, adaptive cruise control, and intelligent traffic management systems designed to reduce driver fatigue and improve long-haul safety.

Finally, Daewoo spotlighted its H2ICE hydrogen combustion trucks, 11-litre heavy-duty vehicles capable of diesel-equivalent power and a 500km range—while producing zero CO₂ emissions. These trucks are expected to be launched once hydrogen fuelling infrastructure is established in the UAE.
