Polestar celebrates new production milestone

Swedish electric performance car manufacturer hits 150,000 units as Al-Futtaim Electric Mobility Company lauds Polestar 2's UAE sales

Polestar has proudly announced a monumental production achievement: the production of 150,000 units of the Polestar 2 electric performance fastback.

The Polestar 2, the brand’s inaugural volume car, commenced production in 2020, and it has been instrumental in driving the company’s expansion.

In the United Arab Emirates, Al-Futtaim Electric Mobility Company, the exclusive dealer representative for Polestar, says it has experienced an overwhelming surge of interest in the Polestar 2 since its introduction in the first quarter of 2022.

Hasan Nergiz, Managing Director for Al-Futtaim Electric Mobility Company, expressed his satisfaction, stating, “The Polestar 2 continues to captivate UAE consumers, igniting enthusiasm for forthcoming models. This underscores the UAE’s readiness for progressive performance electric vehicles within the realm of sustainable mobility.”

The Polestar brand has garnered substantial attention in the region, partly due to the exclusive presentation of the Polestar 6 electric performance roadster concept at the Emirates Towers, Dubai, in February 2023. Additionally, a comprehensive preview of Polestar’s future electric vehicle lineup, encompassing the Polestar 3, Polestar 4, Polestar 5, and Polestar 6, was hosted at ADGM on Abu Dhabi’s Al Maryah Island in May 2023.

Polestar 2 sales in the UAE have been further bolstered by the cutting-edge Polestar Space at the Mall of the Emirates. This innovative showroom accommodates up to three Polestar EVs simultaneously, complete with a configuration studio for customers to tailor their ideal Polestar experience. Two private consultation rooms also facilitate one-on-one interactions with knowledgeable Polestar Specialists.

The Polestar 2 model range boasts three variants, offering a variety of long- and standard-range battery options, with capacities reaching up to 78 kWh. These vehicles are equipped with both dual- and single-motor powertrains, delivering impressive performance figures of up to 300 kW (408 hp) and 660 Nm of torque.

As Polestar celebrates the remarkable milestone of 150,000 Polestar 2 units produced, the company’s commitment to delivering cutting-edge electric performance vehicles remains unwavering, further solidifying its position in the ever-expanding world of sustainable mobility.
