Daewoo Trucks, South Korea, a part of Indias Tata Motors Group, held a customer get-together along with its UAE distributor United Diesel, Al Rostamani Group, at the Desert Palm Resort in Dubai last month.
The purpose of the event Daewoo Star Customer Meet was to celebrate 10 years since the brands introduction in the UAE market and showcase products such as tractors, refuse compactors, cargo trucks and other products from Daewoo Trucks stable, which were on display at the venue.
United Diesel sold its first lot of Daewoo Trucks back in 2007, and many of the customers from that lot were present at the event. Al Haddad, a UAE transport company, even drove down its first truck, bought from United Diesel in 2007. It has clocked 750,000km on its odometer without any major repair so far.
Some of the other customers Daewoo hosted at the event were Engineers Office, Utmost Transport and Al Rama Transport. The truck maker and its local representative honoured these entities for being their oldest patrons in this market.
The gathering comprised about 100 customers from a range of industries and locations, who were loyal to the Daewoo brand and wanted to add more vehicles to their fleet as and when the need arose.
A product presentation by Sudhanshu Shekhar and Gurshaman Singh from Tata Daewoo Commercial Vehicles highlighted that the company offers almost 300 variants for the Middle East market and customers can choose from an array of engine, gearbox, axles and cabin options and configurations from 4×2 to 8×4 in cargo, tractor, mixer, dumper and special purpose vehicles.
