The BMW Group has announced a series of senior management changes set to take effect on 1 October 2025, reshaping leadership roles within its Sales and Finance Divisions as the company looks to build on momentum across its global brands and markets.
The reshuffle sees Ritu Chandy, currently Head of BMW Group Treasury, succeed Parain as Head of Sales Region Asia-Pacific, Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa.
Chandy, who began her BMW career in 2001 at BMW Australia, has held senior positions across BMW’s financial services arm, including CFO for BMW Group Financial Services North America and CEO of BMW Group Financial Services Asia-Pacific. Since 2022, she has been based in Munich, driving BMW’s interaction with capital markets and earning wide recognition among financial stakeholders.
“We are confident that Ritu Chandy, with her drive and strength in successfully managing heterogeneous markets, will continue to build on the strong sales performance in the region,” said Mertl.
“Ritu Chandy’s appointment brings a leader with a unique blend of financial acumen and deep regional expertise to a key pillar of our global footprint,” added Goller
Jean-Philippe Parain, currently Head of Sales for the Asia-Pacific, Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa region, will take over responsibility for the MINI brand. Parain joined BMW Group in 1997 at BMW France in the marketing department and has since held several senior roles, including President and CEO of BMW Group Belux, Head of MINI Europe and Head of Sales Region Europe.
Most recently, under his leadership, the Asia-Pacific, Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa sales region saw strong growth and achieved segment leadership for both BMW and MINI.
“We are convinced that Jean-Philippe Parain, with his leadership experience and sales expertise, will help MINI build on the strong foundation of the new model family and realise the brand’s great potential in coming years,” said Jochen Goller, Member of the Board of Management of BMW AG responsible for Customer, Brands and Sales.
Stefan Richmann, who has led the MINI brand since 2024, will become Head of Treasury and Investor Relations. During his tenure at MINI, global sales rose around 25% year-on-year as of August 2025, with the new all-electric MINI models proving especially successful.
“Stefan Richmann has done an outstanding job in steering the MINI brand into the future and positioning it for continued growth and success,” said Goller.
In his new role, Richmann will oversee the BMW Group’s financing activities, including liquidity management, pension investment and financial risk management, while also managing relations with global capital markets.
“I’m looking forward to welcoming Stefan Richmann in his new position as Head of Treasury,” said Walter Mertl, Member of the Board of Management of BMW AG responsible for Finance. “Stefan’s financial expertise and strategic vision make him the ideal candidate to bring the BMW Group Treasury and Investor Relations to the next level.”
Richmann, who joined BMW in 1997, has held multiple leadership roles in Finance, Controlling and Strategy, including CFO of BMW Spain, CFO of BMW North America and Head of BMW Financial Services America.
