Dubai extends 24-hour road access for trucks until further notice

Extended permit aims to support logistics and boost supply chains while maintaining safety on key routes

Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), in coordination with Dubai Police, has announced an extension of the round-the-clock truck movement permit, allowing heavy vehicles to operate across most roads in the emirate until further notice.

In the midst of the current regional geopolitical situation, the move is designed to strengthen logistics operations and ensure the uninterrupted flow of goods across the city.

Despite the expanded access, certain critical routes will remain restricted. Authorities confirmed that both the Airport Tunnel and Al Shindagha Tunnel are excluded from the decision, with existing traffic controls staying in place to safeguard road users and maintain steady traffic movement in these high-density corridors.

The initiative reflects Dubai’s broader push to enhance economic activity and support its rapidly growing commercial sector. By enabling transport and logistics companies to operate more flexibly, officials aim to improve efficiency across supply chains and reinforce the emirate’s position as a global logistics hub.

Authorities emphasised that compliance remains essential. Truck drivers and transport firms have been urged to adhere strictly to traffic rules and follow official guidance at all times. Cooperation with relevant entities, they noted, will be key to maintaining high safety standards and ensuring smooth traffic flow throughout Dubai’s road network.
