The Big 5: Ford Trucks targets UAE heavy commercial vehicle market

Ford Trucks and Al Tayer Motors are displaying a range of 2016 models at this year’s The Big 5, in what will be the brand’s second time at the region’s largest construction show.

Ford Trucks had an 1843 T tractor, a 3535M 6×4 chassis mixer as well as a 4135M 8×4 chassis mixer, on display at its stand at The Big 5, which opened today.

The manufacturer last year partnered with Al Tayer Motors – also the UAE dealer for Ford passenger vehicles – to enter the UAE market, and opened new showrooms in Dubai and Abu Dhabi. Since then the brand has been targeting the heavy commercial vehicle segment in the Emirates with tippers, mixers and tractors.

“The Middle East is a priority region in Ford Trucks’ growth plans. Following the UAE and Saudi Arabia, where we launched our new facilities last year, we plan to expand our sales and service network into Oman, Qatar, Bahrain and Iraq markets,” said Emrah Duman, Ford Trucks International Markets Director.

“We believe our product line-up is well ahead of the competition, offering solutions to different market needs, such as hot climate package specially developed for GCC region and complete truck solutions for all Middle East markets.”

In terms of aftersales, the manufacturer will be offering a three-year/unlimited mileage standard warranty in UAE in a bid to optimise total cost of ownership, Duman said.
