ADNOC Distribution and TotalEnergies celebrate second anniversary of TEME JV in Egypt

ADNOC Distribution set to open its first flagship outlet in New Cairo this year, as Voyager lubricants is primed for expanded availability

ADNOC Distribution and TotalEnergies are celebrating two years of successful partnership in Egypt at this year’s Egypt Energy Show (EGYPES).

In 2023, ADNOC Distribution acquired a 50% stake in TEME, creating a partnership that now operates over 240 fuel retail sites across Egypt, covering wholesale, aviation fuel, and lubricant blending operations. This acquisition introduced ADNOC’s retail fuel and Oasis convenience store brands to the Egyptian market, reinforcing its regional expansion strategy.

Eng. Bader Saeed Al Lamki, CEO of ADNOC Distribution, stated: “The ongoing success of our TEME joint venture demonstrates the value of our international expansion strategy in driving value-accretive growth. Egypt, with its significant economic potential, is a key part of our growth journey. We’re proud to deliver innovative solutions and exceptional customer experiences that align with our long-term vision for regional leadership.”

Thomas Strauss, Managing Director & Country Chair of TotalEnergies Marketing Egypt, echoed this sentiment: “This partnership underscores our mutual dedication to strengthening Egypt’s energy solutions. We recognise the immense potential of the Egyptian market and are committed to fostering sustainable growth.”

ADNOC Distribution is set to open its first flagship service station in New Cairo this year, featuring an expanded ADNOC Oasis convenience store and a broader range of automotive services. This flagship site will complement the existing 11 ADNOC-branded stations already operating in the country, aligning with ADNOC’s commitment to providing industry-leading customer experiences.

Additionally, ADNOC’s Voyager lubricants, blended locally by TEME, are set to expand their availability. Currently offered at ADNOC Distribution service stations, the lubricants will soon be available through independent distributors, broadening their market reach beyond ADNOC-owned outlets. This expansion highlights Egypt’s growing role as a hub for manufacturing and export-focused production.

Looking ahead, TEME is aiming to strengthen its footprint in Egypt’s aviation fuel market, a sector driven by the country’s strategic role as a transport and tourism hub in North Africa and beyond. By enhancing its aviation fuel services, TEME seeks to support Egypt’s growing aviation industry and contribute to the nation’s energy security.
