BYD getting closer to buyers as new UAE showroom opens

Al-Futtaim Electric Mobility Company planning to expand its after-sales services, including the introduction of mobile van servicing by 2025

Al-Futtaim Electric Mobility Company, in partnership with BYD, the world’s leading EV car-maker, is celebrating the official opening of its new state-of-the-art showroom on Sheikh Zayed Road.

The showroom, which has been operational for one month, has already attracted over 1,000 walk-ins and test drive bookings, reflecting the growing demand for BYD’s electric and hybrid vehicles in the region. This location is part of BYD’s “Closer to You” strategy, designed to enhance accessibility and convenience for customers across Dubai, giving them the chance to explore the brand’s cutting-edge range of eco-friendly vehicles.

At the official opening, visitors were treated to an exclusive preview of the highly anticipated BYD YangWang U8, a luxury electric SUV making its first appearance in the UAE. The YangWang U8, boasting a powerful 1,100-horsepower quad-motor system and advanced off-road capabilities such as “crab mode” lateral movement, is set to go on sale in the UAE in 2025. The SUV is positioned as one of BYD’s flagship offerings, reflecting the company’s aim to provide electric vehicles for all drivers, from affordable entry-level models to high-end luxury options.

Hasan Nergiz, Managing Director at Al-Futtaim Electric Mobility Company, spoke about the success of the showroom and BYD’s growing presence in the UAE: “Since launching in the UAE last year, we’ve seen an overwhelming response from the market. In just one month at this new showroom, we’ve had a record number of walk-ins and test drives. This demand highlights the UAE’s interest in eco-conscious driving and advanced technology. Moving forward, our aim is to ensure accessibility, with plans to cover 90% of the UAE market by the end of the year and the opening of new showrooms in Abu Dhabi, Al Ain, and Ras Al Khaimah.”

Al-Futtaim Electric Mobility Company also has plans to expand its after-sales services, including the introduction of mobile van servicing by 2025, offering customers the convenience of vehicle servicing at home or on-the-go.

AD Huang, General Manager of BYD Middle East & Africa, added, “The opening of this second showroom in the UAE reinforces our commitment to sustainable mobility. Sheikh Zayed Road is an iconic location, and this new facility allows us to offer more accessible and innovative electric vehicle solutions to meet the growing demand in the UAE.”
