Chery to introduce Super Intelligent Parking technology in UAE

Chinese automaker’s autonomous parking system is being prepared for the UAE market, targeting everyday challenges such as crowded malls, extreme summer temperatures and tight parking spaces

Chery is preparing to introduce its Super Intelligent Parking (SIP) technology to the UAE, as the Chinese automaker expands its intelligent mobility offering in international markets. The system is designed to address common parking challenges faced by UAE drivers, including busy shopping destinations, large parking facilities and high summer temperatures.

The technology was showcased during Chery first User Co-Creation event for the Super Intelligent Parking function, where Aaron Zheng, Executive Deputy General Manager of CHERY International Marketing Center, presented the system’s capabilities, technology platform and potential applications.

Chery said the UAE introduction will form part of its wider global rollout of smart driving solutions. The company claims the system represents the first overseas mass-production application by a Chinese automaker of an end-to-end, large-model-driven intelligent parking technology.

The SIP system is designed around two key functions: “One Tap Departure” and “One Step Home”. Through a mobile application, users can summon the vehicle from a parking space, allowing it to autonomously exit and drive to a designated pick-up point. On arrival, drivers can leave the vehicle at a parking entrance, with the car then navigating the facility, identifying an available space and parking itself.

Potential applications for UAE users

For UAE users, Chery highlights several potential applications. At high-traffic locations such as Dubai Mall and Mall of the Emirates, the system can assist with finding available spaces through intelligent route planning and autonomous parking functions.

The vehicle summon feature is also aimed at addressing the challenges of UAE summers, where temperatures can exceed 45°C. Users can remain indoors while the vehicle drives itself to a designated pick-up area, reducing exposure to heat when walking across large outdoor parking areas.

The system also targets narrow parking spaces commonly found in underground residential and commercial facilities by allowing occupants to exit in wider areas before the vehicle completes the parking manoeuvre.

The technology combines cameras, LiDAR sensors, a Transformer-based BEV perception algorithm, high-definition mapping and real-time positioning technology. Chery said the system can recognise vehicles, pedestrians and obstacles, while also performing autonomous passing, avoidance and braking functions when required.

During the user Q&A session, Chery executives addressed questions around the technology’s operating limits. The company confirmed that the system can navigate and park across different levels of multi-storey parking facilities but is designed only for enclosed parking environments and cannot be used on public roads.

“This direct user engagement event is not only an important step for Chery to promote the global implementation of intelligent parking technology but also a practice of the localisation concept of ‘In Somewhere, For Somewhere, Be Somewhere’,” the company said.

Chery added that future user co-creation activities, including those in the UAE, will help adapt the technology to local driving environments and support the wider deployment of intelligent mobility solutions.
