Lotus has launched the Emira 420 Sport in the Middle East, introducing a new flagship version of its sports car range that delivers 421PS and 500Nm from a 2.0-litre turbocharged four cylinder engine.
The new model will be represented in the UAE by AGMC, the official distributor for Lotus Cars in the country. Positioned as the most powerful and lightweight Emira to date, the 420 Sport is the latest model to carry Lotus’ Sport designation, following previous performance focused variants including the Esprit Sport 300, Elise Sport 220, Exige Sport 380 and Evora GT410 Sport.

Powerful engine and performance
Power is supplied by a 2.0 litre turbocharged in line four cylinder engine producing 416bhp (310kW / 421PS) and 500Nm of torque. The engine is paired with an eight-speed dual clutch transmission featuring revised calibration for faster gear changes, sending power to the rear wheels.
The Emira 420 Sport accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.9 seconds, reaches 200km/h in 12.47 seconds and has a top speed of 300km/h, making it the world’s fastest four cylinder production car. Lotus claims the model can accelerate from 80-120km/h in 2.4 seconds.
The chassis has also been revised, with the 420 Sport sitting 5mm lower than the standard Emira on a dedicated sports setup. Revised suspension geometry is designed to improve steering response and body control, while an optional Lotus Lightweight Handling Pack introduces Multimatic two-way adjustable dampers.
The optional package reduces weight by up to 25kg through the use of components including a titanium exhaust, lithium ion battery and carbon fibre louvred tailgate. The exhaust contributes around 9kg of weight reduction, while the tailgate removes a further 4.9kg from a high position on the vehicle.
Aerodynamics increase performance
Aerodynamic updates include a redesigned front splitter, revised bumper inserts, wheel arch vents, extended side sills, larger side intakes and a rear lip spoiler. Together, these features generate an additional 25kg of downforce without increasing drag.
Cooling performance has also been improved, with increased airflow to the radiators and exhaust system to support higher load driving conditions, including track use.
The Emira 420 Sport is the first model in the range to offer exposed exterior carbon fibre as an option. The Carbon Fibre Pack adds the material to components including the front splitter, wheel arch vents, side sills, side intakes, rear lip spoiler and diffuser surround.
The new model joins the Model Year 2027 Emira line up above the Emira Turbo, Emira Turbo SE and Emira V6 SE. A removable tinted glass roof panel will also become available across the wider Emira range. AGMC will announce UAE pricing, ordering information and customer delivery details at a later date.
