DMCC launches Dubai’s first fully-electric community bus service connecting JLT and Uptown Dubai

JLT Link will connect residents, businesses, and visitors with key lifestyle, retail, and transport hubs across DMCC’s destinations

Master developer, DMCC, has announced the launch of JLT Link, a 100 per cent electric-powered bus service designed to enhance connectivity across Jumeirah Lakes Towers (JLT) and Uptown Dubai with services commencing on 1 August 2026.

The introduction of JLT Link marks the latest step in DMCC’s ongoing efforts to strengthen the experience of living, working and visiting JLT and Uptown Dubai. As part of this commitment, JLT Link replaces the existing RTA bus service with no interruption to the current passenger schedule.

By making it easier for people to move around the districts, the service will improve access to restaurants, cafés, retail outlets, offices, hotels and community amenities while reducing reliance on private vehicles for shorter journeys and supporting the continued growth of Uptown Dubai as an emerging commercial and lifestyle hub.

JLT Link is the latest of JLT’s environmental initiatives, which include solar-powered infrastructure, Dubai Can drinking water stations and community recycling facilities. The new fleet of fully electric buses reflects DMCC’s alignment with Dubai’s ambitions to reduce transport-related emissions, promote clean mobility solutions and advance its Net Zero 2050 goals.

The fleet comprises a mix of 16-, 23- and 31-seat buses, each featuring low-floor access, wheelchair accessibility and space for standing passengers. Designed with accessibility and comfort in mind, the fleet provides a convenient and accessible transport option for all users.

The service will cover 18 bus stops across JLT and Uptown Dubai, including convenient connections to both DMCC Metro Station and Sobha Realty Metro Station, enhancing access to Dubai’s wider public transport network. The two circular routes within JLT will operate at 20-minute intervals, while the route connecting Uptown Dubai and DMCC Metro Station will operate every 30 minutes.

Ahmed Bin Sulayem, Executive Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of DMCC, said: “JLT Link is a further investment in the infrastructure that underpins our long-term vision for JLT and Uptown Dubai as one integrated destination. With fully electric buses, 18 stops, direct metro station links, and accessible, high-frequency services, we are creating a more connected, sustainable and convenient urban experience. As we continue to grow as a global business destination, initiatives like JLT Link enable seamless travel for our community and reinforce Dubai’s position as one of the world’s most competitive places to live, work and do business.”

The JLT internal routes will operate Monday through Saturday from 6:30 AM to 9:30 PM (last departures at 9:24 PM and last arrivals at 9:37 PM) and on Sundays from 9:30 AM to 12:30 AM. The Uptown Dubai route from JLT will operate from 6:55 AM to 8:00 PM.
