The Emirates Transport Driving Institute (ETDI), a key division of Emirates Transport, celebrated a significant milestone at a special ceremony held by Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) in late October.
The event, dedicated to recognizing driving instructors and institutes that excelled in meeting driver training service targets, awarded ETDI five Outstanding Achievement Awards for its instructors. This accolade coincided with the institute’s 8th anniversary, marking a momentous chapter since its official launch in 2016.
The ceremony also spotlighted ETDI’s journey of growth and success. From its initial base in Dubai’s Warsan 3 area, the institute has expanded to five branches across the city. Today, ETDI boasts a team of over 85 professional trainers and has trained 10,384 individuals pursuing UAE driving licenses. Furthermore, its parallel operation, focusing on professional training for school transport drivers and safety supervisors, has successfully trained over 80,000 participants across the UAE’s transport sector.
Dominic Hagerty, Chief Transport & Lease Officer at Emirates Transport, expressed pride in the recognition, attributing the institute’s achievements to its dedicated team and Emirates Transport’s broader strategic goals.
“Being the only federally accredited government center dedicated to training drivers, transport employees, and license seekers for various vehicle types in Dubai is a significant honour. This milestone reflects our commitment to excellence and our alignment with local and international quality standards,” said Hagerty. He also lauded the institute’s memberships in prestigious bodies and its numerous quality certifications.
ETDI Manager Abdalla Abdelrahman Mohamed emphasized the institute’s competitive advantages, including affordable pricing, modern training facilities, and a diverse vehicle fleet. Located in the serene setting of Warsan 3, away from city congestion, the institute offers accredited instructors, VIP training options, and convenient registration offices across Dubai. Students also benefit from the flexibility of remote theoretical courses. These features have propelled ETDI into the top three driving institutes in Dubai, with an impressive success rate in RTA driving tests.
Looking ahead, Mohamed reaffirmed ETDI’s commitment to further expansion and enhancement of its training programmes.
“Our goal is to continuously improve while aligning with the strategic vision of Emirates Transport. We are excited about the future as we build on over four decades of excellence in transport, leasing, and technical services,” he said.
