Uber launches Uber School service in Dubai

Real-Time Trip Tracking allows parents to monitor rides live and receive trip notifications and it also incorporates Enhanced Safety Measures

Uber has launched Uber School in collaboration with Dubai’s Roads & Transport Authority (RTA), a new transport service designed specifically for students aged 8 and above. Embedded within Uber Teens accounts, Uber School provides a convenient and more affordable way for students and parents to manage daily commutes with key safety features ensuring peace of mind.

The service is available exclusively between 6 AM and 6 PM, aligning with regular school hours and allowing flexibility for extra-curricular activities. Parents can benefit from up to 35% savings on transport costs when booking 10 trips or more per week.

How Uber School Works

To request rides via Uber School, parents must first set up a Teen account on the Uber app. They can do this by navigating to the Account section, selecting Family and Teens, and inviting their child via contacts. Once the child completes the mandatory safety onboarding, they can request their first ride via Uber Teens. To opt into Uber School, parents must complete an online form. Once this step is complete, they will be able to request rides through Uber School and start saving on transport costs.

Uber School includes several key features designed to enhance safety and affordability. Real-Time Trip Tracking allows parents to monitor rides live and receive trip notifications. The service also incorporates Enhanced Safety Measures, including PIN verification, driver and vehicle details, and optional audio recording for added security. Additionally, parents can take advantage of Affordable Transport, with savings of up to 35% on weekly transport expenses through bulk trip packages.

“We designed Uber School with students and families in mind, ensuring an affordable, efficient, and reliable solution for daily commutes. Parents can have complete peace of mind with live tracking and real-time notifications,” said Carine Arif, Head of Communications, MENA at Uber.

She added: “Our mission at Uber is to reimagine the way the world moves—making transportation safer, more reliable, and convenient for all. Uber School is another step in providing seamless mobility solutions for families in Dubai.”

Adel Shakeri, Director of Planning and Business Development, Public Transport Agency, RTA, described Uber as a trusted global name in ride-hailing, adding: “Uber School provides a safe and reliable transport service for school students and their families, enhancing Dubai’s school transport ecosystem.”

He further added: “School transport plays a crucial role in students’ daily lives and offers parents the security of a trusted commute. Uber School aligns with Dubai’s vision to improve and diversify transportation options in the Emirate.”

With Uber School, parents now have a trusted partner to help manage daily routines with greater ease and efficiency. As students settle into their busy schedules, Uber School provides a cost-effective and reliable solution for daily school transportation, reducing stress for families while enhancing mobility across Dubai.
